It is difficult for me to keep up with this journal.
Nowadays I'm more of a casual observant of fandoms (snobby name for lurker, I guess) so I don't really participate or do much that requires me to keep on updating this. Also, I'm a much better writer in my mothertongue so I always end up going back to my other blogs and projects.
That being said, I just did some cleaning on older posts and may start doing something with this LJ instead of returning to it every few centuries. I can even think of it as a challenge!
In a sudden decision I felt like doing some fanmixes, and I am working on one for Davos and another for Sansa right now. Don't know if they'll be worth to post around but either way it is kind of fun, and I have to say, Shearwater has so many great songs for ASOIAF characters, it's not even funny...

I'm doing a marathon of The Wire and just can't get over the idea of Dominic West as Davos. I know the actor is a bit too young for the role, especially considering how the series has advanced the age of everyone else, but wouldn't it be awesome to have him in Game of Thrones?!
Anyway, back to The Wire. I lack enough adjectives to describe just how much I love everyone in this series without sounding like a 12 year old pre-teen, so I won't try. Don't underestimate the addictive power of this series — if ASoIaF is crack on paper, The Wire is its television version, no doubt. My crush on Aidan Gillen appreciates it!
Lance Reddick and Clarke Peters are fucking amazing. I think Omar is a tad bit overrated; I love him and everything, but the guy does seem a little out of the realistic approach that The Wire otherwise have. Still, he's really fun to watch.
And I'm slowly returning to design. I have moments of deep saturation where I can't even stand to hear about it, and I wonder if that was the right career choice for me. It all goes down to two questions: Can I imagine myself exercising the profession? Hum. Can I imagine myself doing something else? NO.
Suddenly I decided that I needed more Tintin books, and picked up some I didn't have yet (The Blue Lotus and The Castafiore Emerald). I really appreciate the simple aesthetics and fun adventures. Also, there are several moments (particularly the Captain's...) I would love to iconize. I should use this LJ more. Maybe I will.

happiness, happiness

music: Iron & Wine: White Tooth Man
An absolute classic from Tropicalia! Alegria, Alegria by Caetano Veloso.
Happiness, happiness
Walking against the wind
Without handkerchief or documents
Under the sun of almost December
I go...
The sun shares itself in crimes
Spaceships, guerrillas
In beautiful cardinales
I go...
In faces of presidents
In great loving kisses
In tooth, legs, flags
Bomb and Brigitte Bardot...
The sun in the newstands
Fills me with happiness and sloth
Who reads that much news
I go...
In Between photographs and names
The eyes filled with colors
And the chest full of vain love
I go
Why not, why not...
She thinks about marriage
I never went back to school anymore
Without tissues and documents,
I go...
I drink a Coke
She thinks about marriage
And a song consoles me
I go...
In between photographs and names
Without books and fuzil
Without hunger, without telephone
In Brazil's heart...
She doesn't even know, I thought
In singing on television
The sun is so pretty
I go...
Without handkerchief or documents
Nothing on my pockets or in my hands
I want to keep on living, love
I go...
Why not, why not...

everyday-life circle

mood:
mellow
music: O Rappa: Rodo Cotidiano
Yeah, again with the lyrics. Time for a brazilian urban-ish song.
Rodo Cotidiano (Everyday-life Circle)
Oh, oh, oh, oh... my brother...
Yeah...
The idea there, circulated with no restrictions
Rolled up the creased social sleeve
In the heat, aluminium, there was no pen nor paper
And an idea escaped...
It was the everyday life circle,
It was the everyday life circle
Space is short, almost like a pen [of pigs]
On my crumpled backpack, a spoiled meal
My change is not enough, it's almost nothing
My change is not enough, it's almost nothing
Oh, oh, oh, oh... my brother...
You don't walk around where you like it
But around here there's no other way, everyone lean against each other
She disappears in the drain of people
She's beautiful but doesn't have a name
It is common and it is normal
I'm another one in Brazil's Central
Of the metal worm that bend the streets
Of the metal worm
Like a Conchord all hurried up, filled with strength
Fly, fly heavier than the air
The airplane, the airplane, the airplane of the worker
Oh, oh, oh, oh... my brother...
